Reflection on Toy series of drawings

In the past year I have re discovered the habit of drawing. I’ve found that my style is as precise and considered as it is in sketch books from when I was sixteen and doing my BTEC.
Drawing for me is joyful and satisfying in its simplicity. It is accessible it doesn’t exclude anyone, it is honest.

All the toys in the drawings have memories attached to them. Individually, they were received as presents, won at fairs, bought at school fetes, made on a Sunday afternoon with my daughter using materials from her first sewing box that we gave her for her sixth birthday and Mrs Rabbit has travelled with me since I was a toddler.
