'I SPY AT THE GALLERY' ARTSPACE WORKSHOPS
Alongside this year's show we are running a series of workshops. These are designed to make you look more closely at the show and at yourself, then allow you the opportunity to make beautiful works of art alongside professional artists.

TUESDAY 29th JUNE. 2-4pm.
PLASTER SCULPTURE WITH JACKIE PALMER.
Learn how to use plaster sculpturally and create your own work of art. Jackie is a mixed media graduate and uses plaster frequently in her own work. Please bring old clothes, as you will get messy. Materials provided. Suitable for adults.

WEDNESDAY 30th JUNE.
PORTRAITURE WITH HELEN WARD.
Learn the art of drawing portraits from a model. Helen's own work is inspired by Rubens and other classical artists. She is an experienced art tutor and an expert on capturing the human form. Please bring your own preferred drawing medium and paper, and an easel if you own one. Suitable for adults.

THURSDAY 1st JULY 2004. POETRY WORDPLAY
WITH DEBBIE TYLER-BENNETT.
Using 'I Spy at the Gallery' as inspiration, you will first view the exhibits then respond in words, creating poetry based on your experience. Debbie is a lecturer, poet and editor of the periodical 'The Coffee House'. Please bring a notebook and pen.

SATURDAY 3rd JULY 2004. WIREWORKS WITH SUE CLEWS.
Create a mini-sculpture or piece of jewellery using coloured wire and beads. Sue's beautiful twisted wire vessels and jewellery can be found in the best craft galleries. This is an opportunity to make a truly delicious piece of work to take home. Please bring any beads you wish to use, otherwise materials will be provided.

SATURDAY 3rd JULY 2004. 'I SPY INSTALLED' WITH CLARE BULL.
Help create an installation piece by adding your response to the exhibits. Firstly you will tour the show, then work with Clare to develop your piece. Clare is a recycling artist so please bring along any saved materials you wish to use and be prepared to look at the making process with new eyes. You can pick up your work at the end of the show. This is a multi-generational workshop so all ages welcome.

MONDAY 5th JULY 2004. SELF-PORTRAITS WITH HELEN WARD.
Have you ever looked this closely at your own face before? Using mirrors, you will investigate the art of drawing self-portraits with Helen Ward who has explored the use of self-portraiture in her own work. Please bring along your own preferred drawing medium, paper, a mirror and an easel if you own one. Suitable for adults.

ARTISTS' TALKS WITH ARTSPACE MEMBERS.
A last opportunity to spend time with Artspace artists before the show closes on the 10th of July.

GROUP WORKSHOPS
We are also running workshops specially for groups. Including a drama based session with Anthony Middleton. The group will explore and create within the gallery space.

Also we have a collage based session for primary children 'I Spy a Happy Memory' with Kim Mason. The children will be asked to revisit a happy time and make a picture using collage.
