The shared experience of being from the same place and generation. The group will look at objects from the museum's collections, stimulating discussion and reminiscence. Through drawing and collage the group will create a piece of artwork amalgamating their joint experiences. The workshop will also be recorded by dictaphone to capture the stories and discussion's that emerge from the process. The first session will start at 10am at Charnwood museum and continueuntil 12 noon. Drawing Power has a simple but ambitious aim - to get everyone drawing.
The Campaign was initiated in 2000 by The Guild of St George, a small charity
founded by John Ruskin, the great Victorian artist, writer and visionary.
Ruskin saw drawing as the foundation of visual thought. His mission was
not to teach people how to draw, but how to see.
